Are Ngina Kenyatta and June Chepchirchir caught up in a love storm? The man in question is allegedly Kenyan youth Alliance chairman Ian Meshack Kimutai. According to his Facebook page, Meshack is an alumnus of Uasin Gishu High School before joining Daystar University and hails from Kapsabet (Nandi County). It has been purported that Ian met Ngina Kenyatta two months before the March 2013 general elections. “I do not know where this rumour came from but I can confirm that this is an exaggeration,” Ian said when contacted.

Further attempts to ‘squeeze out’ information from Ian, however, led to a curious statement: “I do not know who leaked that information, but I believe that everything has a season. If at all there is any truth, then it will be known in due course. “We have decided not to comment on this issue for now. Can everyone mind their own business, already?” he said.

June Ruto

A source close to the family described Ngina as ‘well cultured and too reserved to get involved in such ‘drama’.

Little is known about Ngina Kenyatta’s life. She is mostly in company of her cousins Ngina Pritt or Nana Gecaga. On the other hand, June Ruto has not always enjoyed ‘royalty’.

A reliable source reveals that June, a daddy’s girl, was once a ‘normal’ schoolgirl at Kapkenda Girls in Elgeyo Marakwet County. Her close relationship with her dad developed in 2004. She later transferred to GilGil high school in 2006. “I cannot comment on such issues. I also heard claims that she is an ambassador, which is not true. All in all, I’m not authorised to comment on such issues,” David Mugonyi, the VP’s head of communication, told a journalist.
